Whew! I've been a very busy bee making honey over the internet for a couple of months that I am unable to update this personal blog. Well, I guess it's time to make it up to you guys and keep you clued up on the latest happenings in your resident blogger's life.
I've been away to pursue a long-suppressed passion; writing. As you may have been aware of, my beginnings as a freelance writer has not been easy. Finding clients is one difficulty and keeping them is another.
Now, I am oh-soooo-proud to inform all of you that I am already a 'certified freelance writer'. I am finally able to handle a couple of writing assignments for various clients. Everything started with a craiglist job posting and ended up with a lot more opportunities in oDesk. After more than a month of wait and hardwork, I now have regular writing assignments to work on.
So, there. For those of you who also wanted to make honey online and who have not yet read my blog post 'My Journey as an Online Freelance Writer', please read it and I hope you get inspired. Remember; everything starts with inspiration and a little of perspiration.
Long live passionate writers!!!

Hi Clarrise!
ReplyDeleteFirst, I just want to congratulate you on your successful endeavor as an online freelance writer.
I think you deserve such luck because apart from the talent you have in writing, you also have a big heart about it and the passion you have for writing makes all the difference with other freelance writers out there who are just up to getting big bucks.
I must say, you impressed me as I read your blog today.
By the way, I'm Joycelle. And I'm also a freelance writer just like you. Though I already have joined Odesk three months ago, I never pursued it really because of my other freelance job as a writer for academic projects of foreign students. I'm not making big bucks here because I'm only one of the pool of writers, so the direct contact of the clients are the ones receiving the $s while the rest of us who does the tedious and exhausting job gets Peso in return.
Anyways, I'm not complaining, because I still enjoy what I'm doing. I never even thought I would become a freelance writer myself. I am a graduate of Psychology and one of the top students who graduated in our batch. Had two work experiences, from being a Montessori teacher to an HRD Officer. After that, I resigned. And opted to just stay at home and become a full time homemaker.
Nonetheless, with some luck and perseverance too, I found a new venture into freelancing. And this lead me to becoming a freelance writer and researcher.
Now that interviews are pouring in at my Odesk profile, I believe and hoped too that in days to come, I'll be able to reap the same luck as the rest of the other successful Filipino providers out there, including you. =)
Hehehe, I know this is quite a novel already, but I am really glad to have stumbled upon your blog and get to know you, Clarrise.
Hope this is not the end but just the beginning of a new found friendship between freelance writers and bloggers like you and me.
